Jennifer has been working here at Long Island Dental Care for 3 years now and loves being part of our team! After graduating from Martin Van Buren, Jennifer attended The New York School where she studied all phases of dental assisting as well as office management. Jennifer is a graduate of The New York School for Medical and Dental Assistants in Forest Hills, New York. She completed her internship in Manhasset New York. After being certified as a dental assistant, Jennifer began working in the dental field as an assistant & completed college. She attended Queensborough Community College and became an office manager in Floral Park, where she worked for many years. Jennifer has worked in all areas of dentistry along side some of the top dentists and specialist in the field. She has many years of experience working with orthodontist, periodontist and oral pathologists.

Jennifer is affiliated with the American Dental Assistant Association and has partnered with some of the top dental agencies on Long Island. Including, Dental Fill-Ins and Dent-Temps.

Jennifer has been in the dental field for over 15 years and thoroughly enjoys what she does. Making patients feel comfortable is her main objective. Jennifer truly takes pride in her job as office manager at Long Island Dental Care. She’s very proud to be part of the team. Jennifer can be found every year at various neighborhood functions, including the Mineola Senior Appreciation Day, the Mineola Fair and the Taste of Mineola. Jennifer’s goal at the office is to make each and every patient feel like part of our extended family. Jennifer say’s she enjoys greeting the patients every day with a warm and friendly smile. Jennifer is a great financial coordinator and prides herself on her success working with all of the many insurance companies.

When Jennifer is not in the office working hard with Dr. Nagelberg, she can be found kayaking, biking, or hiking with her dogs. She loves animals, nature and traveling as much as possible. She’s a huge sports fan and an avid photographer.

Susana

Susana has been working at Long Island Dental Care for 7 years now. She started when she was 15 years old. What started off as just a summer job progressed into a full time position. Susana enjoys working here. It is a pleasant place to work due to her co-workers and of coarse the patients.

Susana is bilingual in Portuguese and English. Mineola has a larger Portuguese community, therefore Susana being able to translate Portuguese and English is both helpful to Dr. Nagelberg and patients who only speak Portuguese. We have found that many Portuguese patients, even those, who speak English, feel more comfortable communicating in Portuguese.

Susana graduated Mineola High School in 2003. During her senior year she attended Barry Tech for Dental Assistant. She enjoyed completing her one year program.

Susana and the staff attend the Mineola Fair and Senior Citizen Appreciation Day every year. Long Island Dental Care believes in being very involved in the community we serve. Susana enjoys attending the functions.

Susana looks forward to progressing in her career in the dental field. She started off as a Dental Assistant and is now Head Dental Assistant and is doing more work at the front desk. She wants to learn as much as she can in the dental field.

When Susana is not working at Long Island Dental Care, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. And also enjoys horseback riding.

Karla

Karla moved to New York from El Salvador in 2003. When she arrived to this country she spoke only Spanish. Within 4 months of her arrival she was speaking English fluently and she was enrolled in Mineola High School.

Mineola High School in conjunction with Mineola Youth and Family Services established a mentoring program. Selected students had the opportunity to gain experience in the business environment. Dr. Nagelberg was one of the mentors. Karla successfully completed the mentoring program in June of 2005 at Long Island Dental Care. Karla received training as a dental assistant while completing her mentoring program. Dr. Nagelberg was very impressed with Karla and saw what an asset she was to his practice. Upon completion of the mentoring program, he offered her a permanent position as a dental assistant.

Karla enjoys working at Long Island Dental Care and interacting with all of her patients.

Karla graduated from Mineola High School in 2006. She continued on to Nassau Community College majoring in liberal arts while continuing to work here at Long Island Dental Care.

Karla enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves to dance and travel whenever possible.

Jennifer B.
Registered Dental Hygienist

Jennifer B. is an exceptional Dental Hygienist. Jennifer joined Long Island Dental Care in 1998. Jennifer has been in the dental field since 1989 and has extensive clinical experience working as a Dental Hygienist.

Jennifer’s background within the dental profession ranges from Certified Dental Ceramist, Four Handed Dental Assistant, to her current position New York State Registered Dental Hygienist.

Jennifer is currently practicing in three dental offices. It allows her the ability to be proficient with the latest dental techniques that are available to provide her patients with optimum oral health and comfort.

Besides from having an extensive dental background, Jennifer has an excellent personality and can make even the most apprehensive patient feel comfortable.
